Horses and Hogs

It can be considered one of the most unique car shows in the country. The idea was spawned a few years back when a Harley pulled up next to Mustang. The driver of the Mustang looked at the Harley in admiration of the American legend. The rider of the Harley was doing the same to the Mustang. The idea of combining the two icons into one show was born.
That show is called Horses and Hogs and it takes place every year at the Open Road Harley-Davidson location in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Using every inch of available space and adjacent lots, the one-day show brings hundreds of cars and bike from throughout the region. Food, live entertainment and awards add to the day’s experience. The 2011 event takes place this weekend, July 9.
The aviation connection is also strong as planned P-51 Mustang flyovers have occurred and there will be more involvement this year. The nearby airport serves as a location for photo opportunities.
At the conclusion of this year’s show, participants are invited to join a scenic cruise, which will end with a poolside dinner at the nearby Holiday Inn.
Whether your interests are two wheels or four, there’s something to make this a great way to spend a Saturday.
