Finding Rare Parts

This ’54 Buick has some severe rust issues, so if picking for parts on this one, look at the trim pieces and interior parts.

Like many cars in New York, this ’69 Charger has major rust over almost the entire body. The interiors, 2however, usually hold up pretty well.

It looks like this ’66 Comet was someone’s work in progress before it ended up in the salvage yard for some reason.

There are a lot of great trim and interior parts left on this ’63 Corvair 700. The body parts are too far gone to fix.

If you are restoring a ’64 Belvedere, then you may want to check this one out. It has a lot that can help you.

This ’60 Impala may look rough, but it is a 95 percent complete car.

While this ’62 Studebaker Lark may be in pieces, it still is almost all there. A lot can be salvaged off of this one.

Borden Bridge is a great place to visit if you are shopping for used ’63 Studebaker Gran Turismo parts. We don’t find many of these in our travels.

It looks like all the trim has already been taken off this ’55 Mercury. A closer look will show there are many more decent parts remaining.

Not all metal is bad here in New York yards. This ’60 Ford’s metal can still be saved with a little work.

Here is a rare car, a ’59 Fairlane retractable. The retractable roof parts have already been sold off but everything else is there.

It is probably pretty tough these days to find good glass for your ’57 Ford. Here is a spare set for you since you never know what can happen.

It must be impossible to find parts for a ’38 Packard these days. For a car like this that can’t be saved, it’s best to get everything while you can.

There are still a lot of great parts inside and out on this ’56 Buick Century.

This ’47 Buick is still a very stylish car even in this state. This one still has a lot of parts potential. 

Only the interior has anything useful on this 1935 Essex Terraplane. The body is way gone. When was the last time you saw one of these in a salvage yard?

All GM cars from 1958 like this Buick look sharp in any condition. The body style is a timeless classic.

The oldest of the three Terraplanes in the yard is this 1933 model. The other two are a 1935 and a 1937.   

Even though it’s hard to tell from this photo, this ’59 Lincoln is one of the most intact and clean cars in the yard. Borden Bridge has a lot of uncommon cars just like this.

This ’39 Dodge is tucked away in the woods, but that hasn’t stopped people from finding it and picking it over.

Since this Comet is from the ’70s, its metal has stayed a little better than the ’20s and ’30s material in the yard. It represents one of the newest cars that Jake will keep around.

If you need parts for a Chevy Vega, then Jake has two near complete ones right here. It is obvious to us that they are gaining collector popularity.

Here is a very unusual find in a salvage yard: a ’68 Rebel SST. This one is complete and very salvageable as a whole car.
